Mutations are the single most powerful way to multiply your Sheckle income in Grow a Garden 2. A mutated crop can sell for 30x to 90x its base value. This guide covers everything you need to know.

What Are Mutations?

Mutations are visual transformations applied to your crops that multiply their base sell value. You can only have one mutation per crop at a time.

How to Get Mutations

1. Random Chance (~1%)

Every crop has a roughly 1% base chance to mutate when harvested. Keep your rare, valuable crops rather than selling them immediately.

2. Guaranteed from Special Seeds

Planting Gold Seeds or Rainbow Seeds guarantees a mutation. These seeds are earned through events, guild rewards, and codes.

3. Weather Events

Weather events are the primary way to target specific, high-value mutations. When a weather event is active, crops have a much higher chance of receiving that event's associated mutation.
